The Classical Wheat Roti
- Wholesome and is sweet in taste
- Relieves constipation
- Rich in fiber
- Balances vata and pitta
- Nourishing
- Wheat flour – 2 cups
- Rock salt – 1 pinch
- Warm water – Sufficient quantity
- Add a pinch of salt to the wheat flour and mix.
- Gradually add warm water to the flour and knead the dough.
- Keep it aside for ½ an hour
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll them out individually to make pizza like shape.
- You may use dry flour to dust the roti while rolling, to prevent the dough from sticking on the surface.
- Roast the roti on a heated pan
- Roast it on both sides till it is completely cooked
- Smear some ghee on both sides
- It is now ready to be served along with suitable soups or curries of choice
